Whether you enjoy bicycling, hiking or boating, Fred
Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park offers a little something
for every type of traveler. The park, purchased in
1966 through a lease agreement with the Forest Service,
was named after Air Force Col. Fred Gannon. Gannon
led the transformation of a bombing practice range
into a beautiful, picturesque park. The park is best
known for Puddin Head Lake, its long leaf pine trees
and Rocky Bayou – a trailing arm of the Choctawhatchee
Bay.
