There is no better way to experience the history of Port St. Joe than through a tour of the Constitution Convention Museum State Park. This port town was founded in 1835 and hosted Florida's first State Constitution Convention. The museum commemorates the work of 56 territorial delegates who drafted Florida's first constitution in 1838. Through a self-guided, interactive tour, visitors of this museum will learn the history of the 27th state, the process and struggle behind drafting a state constitution as well as what life was like in 19th century Port St. Joe.
Hours and admission:
The museum visitor center is open from 9 a.m. to noon
and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday, except
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day; $1 entrance
